eCAP East Africa – Platform for Positive Growth in Lifelong Learning for Africa

Education is an important right for everyone and not a privilege. Unfortunately, a large number of people do not get the opportunity to obtain an education. To explore possibilities of spreading education and development to reach a significant number of societies is a challenge especially in countries that are still struggling to raise their level of subsistence and comfort in everyday life enjoyed by a community. For that reason, in Kenya, eCAP East Africa Limited was established at the beginning of this year as a social enterprise.

eCAP East Africa will engage in the business of trainers, educationists, information and communications Technology (ICT) and consultants in the areas of aid and development, microfinance, environment management, health and community empowerment under the umbrella of Education and eLearning, in the whole of East Africa.

I do not like to talk much about Myself I find that it would create the reverse effect where people will concentrate more on me than on the problems that are in the society. I generally have two rules in my life, ‘A journey of a thousand miles begins with one footstep’ and ‘There are only two things that can keep you away from your dreams, money and imagination, if the latter is strong enough, the first will never be a problem’. My dream used to be to solve the problems of this world, to create equality in all aspects of life, an equilibrium that would ensure social classes no longer exist, but I know that this is not possible. What I now see is a new approach; where people see problems, I see opportunity – the lowest classes of society have the ability to come out of poverty if only given a strategy and support. This is what I want to do – find opportunities in poverty rather than problems.

eCAP East Africa understands the purpose and benefits of building a strong foundation for a future of a nation with healthy people. Our team is continuously developing tools and means of keeping up with the advancement of knowledge, general awareness, and understanding of latest technologies in serving people.

Within the next five years, eCAP East Africa will have created an enlightened community, expanded it’s work to other East African countries and be a renowned platform of development in Africa. We also hope to create various partnerships with other players who have the same interests in Africa to extend our work and impact. Our vision is to encourage, inspire, support and listen to serve better the community in acquiring a basic education, skills and resources necessary to build self-sufficient prosperous lives.

Which way should eLearning Go?

Which is Better: $100 Smartphone or $15 SMS Mobile Phone?

The $100 smartphone price barrier is broken! Nokia recently announced the 2730 Classic and Synchronica released the MessagePhone. Both mobile phones will retail for $100 or less across the developing world.

Price is also the major selling point for the Vodaphone 150, a self-proclaimed “world’s cheapest mobile phone”. Its only $15. But it only supports SMS and voice. Which brings us to an interesting question:

Which is better: price or functionality?

You could argue that its better to have something, even a stripped down $15 mobile phone, than nothing. But is price really the only factor? Read More of this Story on:
